Emergency Unblinding
Treatment allocated unblinding should only occur in exception circumstances when knowledge of the actual treatment is absolutely essential for further management of the patient or someone who has inadvertently taken the study drug.
In the first instance, we recommend contacting the Principal Investigator or Research Coordinator who’s details can be found on the patient card carried by the patient. If unblinding is deemed to be necessary for patient safety, emergency unblinding is available through the PHRI (international lead team) 24hr toll-free help line (00-800-7474-0000). The call needs to be made by treating clinician and the patient ID will need to be provided.
